Innovation is one of the pillars on which our Group’s business strategy is based, keeping the balance between the know-how of traditional craftsmanship that sets us apart and the most advanced manufacturing technology that enables us to offer innovative products to our customers and consumers.

At Delaviuda CG we do not understand innovation as a sporadic exercise, but as a constant process and a business philosophy, present throughout our organization, and exemplified especially by the activity developed in our Innovation Center.

MINIMIZATION OF “TIME TO MARKET”

Thanks to the integration and sizing of the structures of our two production centers, we have achieved greater efficiency and coordination, which gives us great agility in the development of new products and a short implementation period.

BUSINESS DIVERSIFICATION

One of our main challenges is to deseasonalize production, aiming to diversify our business. Our effort in Innovation allows us to offer a wide range of products, entering into new segments such as chocolates, snacks or bars; and constantly reviewing our traditional products, taking into account current trends such as the reduction of sugars, the use of healthier fats, the production of gluten-free products, and the introduction of more environmentally-friendly packaging.

From our R&D&I Center, located in the Sonseca plant, we work to create the most innovative products, as well as to improve the quality, design and safety of existing ones.

Our Center consists of 1,300 sqm, divided into several areas, among which the workshop and the pilot plant, in which all the industrial process technologies of Delaviuda CG can be replicated on a small scale. Thus, any elaboration process which takes place in these facilities can be efficiently transferred to the production lines of the Group’s factories.

Another of the highlights of the Center is the standardized tasting room, with the UNE-ISO 4121:2006 certification, for the sensory testing and analysis of products. This room consists of 10 fully-equipped stands, where new creations can be assessed rigorously -aspects such as taste, texture, smell, appearance, presentation and packaging are analyzed- both by external consumer groups and by the expert tasting panel of Delaviuda CG.

In addition, the Center is completed with several laboratories for the realization of physical, chemical and microbiological analysis, with state-of-the-art equipment with all the guarantees and AENOR regulations.

¿EN QUÉ PROYECTOS ESTAMOS TRABAJANDO ACTUALMENTE?

1. ALIPROT
Delaviuda Alimentación S.A.U. es la empresa encargada de coordinar el proyecto ALIPROT, una iniciativa dirigida a la investigación y desarrollo de nuevos alimentos saludables con alto contenido proteico. Este proyecto está financiado con recursos procedentes del Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial, y cuenta con el apoyo del Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, dentro del programa FEDER Interconnecta EXPEDIENTE!!!

Dicha investigación está dirigida a establecer metodologías para el diseño y el desarrollo de ingredientes innovadores y nuevos alimentos saludables con alto contenido proteico, adaptados a los requerimientos nutricionales y sensoriales de grupos poblacionales con mayor desgaste muscular y vascular, como pueden ser la población sénior -dada la relación entre la pérdida de masa muscular y el envejecimiento-, o los deportistas, con un metabolismo muscular muy activo.

2. PROYECTO PARA MEJORAR LA TEXTURA DEL TURRÓN BLANDO
Delaviuda Alimentación S.A.U. está trabajando en un proyecto de investigación encaminado a mejorar la textura y estabilidad en el tiempo del turrón blando. El proyecto, denominado “Investigación de nuevos procesos de cuajado y moldeado del turrón blando para mejorar su textura y estabilidad en el tiempo” (con número de expediente IDI-20160094), ha sido financiado por el Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER), a través del Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI), perteneciente al Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad. Otras opciones : GLUTEN FREE.
